Rock Island Arsenal

Project: Stamping Area and Pits
New Construction

Challenge:
The use of strong acids during the manufacturing process required acid-resistant epoxy to protect all press pits and work areas. In addition, all metal in-beds required coating.

Solution:
JAAVIS used acid resistant Novolac Epoxy on floors and vertical walls for protection against acid disintegration – with the concrete floors and concrete vertical walls grinded in advance for optimal adhesion. The manufacturing areas were primed with vertical and horizontal coatings, which was then coated with an acid resistant Novolac epoxy coating, including vertical walls.
